Monthly Cat Spay Day Cats are spayed or neutered
& given a 4 in 1 shot for $20. Rabies vaccine is $5 extra & a feline
leukemia vaccine is $7 extra. Cats are checked in at the humane society
office (707 valley blvd.) at 5 pm. Volunteers transport the cats to the la
county Lancaster shelter and the cats are altered the next day. Cats are
driven back by volunteers and owners pick up their cats at the office at 4
pm. You must have your cat in a secure carrier, no cardboard. They do have
some carriers to lend out.
Voucher Program A voucher application is
filled out by client & mailed to our P.O. Box 922, Tehachapi, CA 93581.
Voucher is then mailed to recipient & they can take it to any
veterinarian in kern county. Vouchers are $35 for female dogs, $30 for male
dogs, $20 for female cats and $10 for male cats. Client is responsible for
remaining costs.
Monthly Cat Vaccine Day Vaccine clinic’s are
held monthly when possible. It depends on the veterinarian’s schedule. The
clinic’s are always held on Saturdays from 10 am to noon. Free id tags for
every one and dog licenses are available for purchase. Voucher applications
are handed out as needed and any other information we can help pet owners
with, like obedience training pamphlets. Vaccine prices are as follows;
rabies = $5, 4 in 1 for cats = $10, feline leukemia = $7, 6 in 1 for dogs =
$10.
